Maison du Maitre

La Maison du Maitre :Bed and Breakfast

La Maison du Maitre is a typical Charentaise manor house with wooden or tiled floors throughout. The large rooms and high ceilings give a wonderful feeling of space and the restoration and decoration has been sympathetically undertaken to preserve the charm of this period property. If you are looking for a short catered break, a weekend away or just passing through the area this is an ideal place to stop.

We have two spacious double rooms each with ensuite bathrooms and king size beds as well as a family suite comprising a double room, a children's room with one set of bunk beds and a single bed with a bathroom inbetween the two. We also have cots and high chairs available if you are travelling with young children but please contact us to book these.

If you wish to organise accommodation for a larger group please ask about availability as we may be able to offer extra rooms in one of our other houses.

Catering

Our room prices include a continental breakfast with a selection of croissants, breads, fruit, yoghurts, cereals and juices. Breakfast is served either in the beautiful dining room or in warmer months, on the terrace overlooking the pool. If you wish to dine with us in the evenings, we offer either a four course dinner comprising starter, main course, cheese and dessert. Meals are freshly prepared and can be designed to suit your tastes if you discuss with us in advance. Alternatively, and especially for those travelling with children, we offer a pizza salad with toppings of your choice. image3 image2-copy

The Pool and Outdoors

The 10m x 5m metre pool has easy access stairs to one end so is ideal for younger children. We are often asked why it does not look bright blue in the pictures, this is because we have a grey liner, which is a much more subtle colour and helps to retain the heat. The pool is heated from June through to the end of September. The pool is surrounded by beautiful flower beds and terraces where you can sunbath on the sunloungers provided. If the sun is too much for you, a lovely wooden gazebo and an assortment of umbrellas are there to provide shade. The pool area is fenced for security reasons. tour1

In summer months a ping pong table is installed in the garden There is plenty of parking and we can offer secure parking in our barn if  you are travelling with motor bikes or cycles. If you are travelling with a dog please ask about availability. We do not allow dogs in the main house as we must consider other guests but we have space in our barns where dogs can sleep. We also have three dogs, cats and horses so can only accept dogs which are well socialised.
